TRAINING OF FULL ATTENTION SKILLS, EMOTIONAL REGULATION AND INTERPERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS IN THE WORK ENVIRONMENT.

CONTEXTUAL LEADERSHIP

We at Cefi Contextus decided to innovate, being protagonists in bringing to the world of work the Skills Training for Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT-SE - Skills for Employment). Its proposal is to enable workers to manage their job in the best possible way, a fact that involves the ability to deal with emotions and relationships in the workplace, in addition to choosing the most appropriate conduct. There is scientific evidence of the effectiveness of this approach for people's emotional lives, and, consequently, for their work (Feingenbaum, 2018; Comtois et al., 2010).

DBT was developed by Marsha Linehan to help people with Borderline Personality Disorder. However, the treatment was so effective that it extended to other issues, for example, to people who had the characteristic of deregulation of emotions. Currently, skills training, one of the treatment activities, is used for groups of adults, adolescents, family members and in schools (Linehan, 1993a, 1993b, 2014). In the context of work, it was observed that people who have or deal with more vulnerable personalities are at greater risk of impairing the functioning of work (McMahon & Enders, 2009). There is still a dialectic in relation to work, because on the one hand it can be rewarding when it is related to people's values and needs, on the other hand, a high level of demands and stress can generate anxiety, depression, mental illness. Therefore, the possibility of empowering people with the skills to identify and manage their problematic cognitions and their related emotions is very important in the process of a better way of being at work (Overland et al., 2014).

We emphasize the power of better people management and we are convinced that leaders can transform their way of working with their teams using this tool of immediate applicability, promoting mental health at the personal and team level.

The course consists of theoretical and practical content and activities to be done in between classes, whose objective is to train the skill learned in class.
