This second week of the year 2022 I want to register here my wish that we can become more and more dialectics in our way of thinking and acting, that is, that we can, as far as possible, to transit in the way of the middle, on the path of the And, especially in this context of so many polarities that we live in our current reality.
According to dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), there is always more than one way to see a situation and more than one way to solve a problem, since all people have unique qualities and different points of view. And the most incredible is to think that two things that seem (or not) opposite, can also be (both right) and the "truths" can change over time.
Not everything needs to be black or white, can be striped and mixed in black and white. You can be independent and ask for help, you may want to be alone and also connected with others, you can accept yourself as it is and at the same time wanting to change some of your aspects. It rejoices every time I listen to it and between two distinct ideas instead of but. This and symbolizes this dialectical thinking, where validation / acceptance and change / conductism is practiced.
Practicing validation / acceptance means finding the real grain in each position, being open to alternatives and understanding and accepting the other's point of view, even if you do not agree. To practice change we need to accept situations and vice versa.
I am a person who lived many dialectical conflicts and in many situations I see myself practicing these es, that is, I can desire security and freedom at the same time, I can feel short of disposition and a lot of desire to enjoy every minute, I can With the focus on myself and also in others, I can be full of hope and also feel hopeless and in this dance, in this way of the way between ideas, I see myself dialectic for most of the time. A few years ago, before meeting DBT, I was very flexible to me until I had a self-criticism about it. Today I realize the importance of this look and I really like thinking dialectically, so I extend to you this my desire and my invitation that may include the practice of dialectic, and in its relations and interactions in the year that begins.
Prosper 2022 !!! With full consciousness and a lot of compassion !!!
