Racism and discrimination. Help tools from dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)

racism, xenophobia and discrimination are part of an invalidating environment that promotes the development of stress and depression in people who suffer. This course will provide an overview of the factors to be considered in relation to culture and racism by discussing or teaching Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills (DBT). For some patients, dealing effectively with their context is fully linked to race or culture issues. DBT skills are taught in order to provide patients with tools to navigate their own unique contexts to help them deal with prejudice and follow in a life that is worth living. SPAN>
