Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is the date that the affective connections are celebrated between people.
This year as the previous one due to the pandemic, that date seems to be having a different taste. This is because interpersonal relationships have never been so necessary for the current context, insulation, routine change, fear of the future and sometimes feeling of loneliness.
The affective ties we built in the course of life bring us the feeling of belonging, supporting and possibly the feeling of not only at this moment of so many uncertainties. This period of pandemic is likely to have facilitated ourselves to recognize the importance of our relationships and how significant it is to have a network of support at a difficult time such as today.
The pandemic also ended up facilitating some romantic relationships, not only for the greatest need to be linked to people, but also by the new work model (Home Office), which benefited distance relationships.
With this, Valentine's Day becomes a date to celebrate not only the passionate between couples, but also the connection between people in this new reality.
