28.06 International LGBTQ + Pride Day

Exactly 51 years ago, on June 28, 1969, there was an event in New York City that would permanently change the history of sexual diversity and gender identity
: the Stonewall rebellion. This event marked one of the most important
days for the LGBT movement.

It is a bar, a marginalized population and a series of violent
repressions motivated by discrimination. But it is about much more - of fighting and
resistance.

The bar was called the Stonewall Inn, popular at the time by
populations dissenting from the norm. The establishment's nights made up the city's LGBT scene. It was a “stronghold” for the marginalized community that, in public spaces, paid attention to the morals and good customs of a hetero-homo-cisnormative society. How important (and it is)
to subvert these modesty! Repressions, on the other hand, are represented here as the
countless police raids suffered at Stonawall Inn and in so many other refuges around the city and
around the world. The order said: "You are criminals!" - The “criminals” replied:
“We are people with rights! We want respect! Let's go to the fight! ”.
Thus, an LGBT avalanche arose like never before and, a year after a series of demonstrations, the world's first LGBT Parade appeared. Since then, days, years and decades have passed with countless entrances and exits for a cause: the right to
live, with dignity and plurality. Therefore, today's date marks the years of a lot of struggle and resistance, fundamental to the legitimation of LGBT lives.

For June 28, CEFI still wants many decades of achievements for the
LGBT population and, above all, for PRIDE! May today mark the daily battle
which is to be who you are. Finally, it is always worth remembering: sexual diversity and gender identity
is not a disease and prejudice is a complex social phenomenon that must be discussed in order to reflect. We all have the right to have rights! Long live love!
