Chemical Addiction - Care to Avoid Relapse
Holiday season is coming, which for families with drug addiction can be a sign that care can be the best gift. CEFI, through the Integration Center, has a specialized team, ready to provide service and suggests:
FOR CHEMICAL DEPENDENT
Try to avoid:
* Giveaways, even with non-alcoholic drinks;
* Energizers are stimulating and should be avoided;
* Food and Desserts that contain alcohol;
* Leave home without food, even if it is to eat at the party. Hunger can be a further stimulus for relapses; * Lacking treatment, if doing, and group meetings.
* If you have to go to a fraternization of work, apply and 4 "S strategy ":
Arise at the party place
Greet colleagues
Smile at everyone, preferably with a glass of water in hand
Quit discreetly because the longer you stay , more exposed to the risks. REMEMBER: Chemical dependence has no cure. Treatment is based on avoiding the first sip, regardless of the substance of choice, as alcohol is the gateway to other drugs.
FOR FAMILY WHO HAVE A CHEMICAL DEPENDENT RELENT:
* Don't insist that the recovering drug addict stay until the end of the party
* Be aware that this is a difficult time for the addict chemist and open up so that he can talk about his willingness to use if he wants to
* Create ways to have fun without having to use substances.
* Remember that adults are role models for children and adolescents. Most drug addicts started using alcohol and at home
* It is illegal for minors to use alcohol even if they are with their family
We wish you a merry Christmas, a lot of love and a 2017 new life , transformed!
