Outreach Knowledge - Mindfulness Relapse Prevention Program
The mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention Program integrates Relapse Prevention and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Developed at the Addictive Behaviors Research Center (University of Washington - USA), the model promotes greater awareness of thoughts, emotions and body sensations through attention regulation practices. The focus of this program involves: perception of emotional triggers, coping strategies of high risk situations, experiential acceptance, self-care, among others. The theme of the first meeting, on November 30th at CEFI, will be - Autopilot and Relapse. The entrance will be the donation of a toy for socially vulnerable children.
Meet our speakers:
Angelica Nickel Adamoli - Degree in Physical Education and Doctoral Student in Clinical Psychology. He is trained in the Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention Model for Addictive Behaviors and is in training in the Neurocognitive Model with an emphasis on the practice of Mindfulness in Motion (King's College London, UK). Physical Education Professor at the Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre, where she develops assistance, teaching and research activities in the area of comprehensive drug user and health care.
Breno Irigoyen de Freitas - Psychologist, Specialist in Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies in Childhood and Adolescence and Master in Clinical Psychology. Has training in the Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention Model for Additive Behaviors, is in training in the Neurocognitive Model with an emphasis on the practice of Mindfulness in Motion (King's College London, UK). He is a supervisor of the SENTE Socio-Emotional Education and Mindfulness Program in public schools and acts as a clinical psychologist.
