Advanced Training: Core Skills EFT with couples

The Essential Skills Training ( core skills ) in emotions -focused therapy (EFT) with couples is the continuity of official international training after having performed initial EFT training (EFT training ( externship ). It is performed by a smaller group and occurs in two modules. Each of these levels is to deepen the knowledge of therapy focused on emotions with couples acquired in initial training and is based on techniques and skills considered essential for EFT efficient practice with couples. Participants practice basic interventions in small groups, with feedback immediately of other more experienced therapists.

Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a humanistic approach to psychotherapy that was formulated in the 1980s and developed based on adult attachment science, a profound theory of personality development and intimate relationships.  This science has expanded our understanding of individual dysfunction and health, as well as the nature of love relationships and family ties.  The attachment presents human beings as relative innate, as well as social and linked by intimate bonds with others.  The EFT model prioritizes emotional regulation as the main organizing agent in individual experience and main interactions in relationships.

Note. One of the requirements for completing Core Skills training level is to show a short video (10-15 minutes) of couples and supervise it in small groups. At least a quarter of each day will be dedicated to seeing and practicing EFT through exercises, simulations or dramatizations and review of recordings of couples sessions.
