June 04, 2020“At first we entered a cave and now we have to look for internal and external resources to make the crossing and find a new way.” Being immune to change, avoiding the feeling of pain, anxiety, anguish keep us from living a life of Acceptance, Choices and Action. Giving space to vulnerability, lack of control and the experience of living one day at a time, with mindfulness and compassion, we give the chance to carry out the journey in a dignified way, towards the “new path” check out the full text written by psychologist Vanessa Stechow (CRP 07/05471) on the CEFI Contextus blog: http: // terapiascontextuais .com.br / accessing-vulnerability-to-change /...
May 26, 2020Today I am at home for 60 days due to social isolation. Like you, I have gone through many phases. Several times I find myself judging others, or even my thoughts and desires, with doubts about what to do or how to position myself. What I can say to you is that, as I became aware of the “exaggeration of judgments”, I was trying to let go of them. Having judgments is neither wrong nor bad, it is a way of evaluating things and defining what works and what doesn't work for us at the moment. Judgment becomes harmful when it hurts or hurts others. May 19, 2020An invitation accessible to anyone is in the way of dealing with this pandemic. Children are not spending as much energy as they could or learning all the desirable curriculum content, the financial crisis that will take time to dissolve, there are countless afflictions inherent in the possibility of losing those we love, among many other challenges. Still, everyone has a great ability: learning to face the unexpected. May 12, 2020If the world stopped outside, inside the house it has never been so agitated. A new e-mail alert arrives, crockery multiplies and requests for attention are countless. Responsibilities for work, home and children can be more difficult to manage when everything is in the same time and space. The feeling of disorganization takes hold and increases the desire to want to put everything in its place. For this, rules and routines are shared with family members and ways of working at home are established. Organization is good, communication too. Together they allow to deal with the expected. However, in the day's planning, some items are not on the agenda. How to deal with tiredness after working and taking care of children? How can you accept the lack of moments for you and the feeling of not being enough for your family or work? Maybe something can help: everything has suddenly become misaligned and in this new reality people are apprentices. And, like any learning process, it is important to understand what did not work and to look for alternatives for the next few days, asking yourself: Is it possible to negotiate? Who can I count on? Doing this with the same kindness with which you have been teaching your child to walk or speak a new word, allowing for error, pause and retry. Among so many things to learn, two are fundamental: First, it's okay if everything doesn't go as planned or if you get impatient or unmotivated, that is also part of it. Second, it is necessary to learn that one is not alone and that reconciling work and family is a task for everyone involved. Share feelings and responsibilities and keep your relationships warm with those who do you well (even from a distance). Finally, if necessary, seek support from specialized professionals to help you in this process....
May 12, 2020Anyone who likes memes (comedy images that circulate on the internet) knows: the use of alcohol in social isolation, a measure to prevent the spread of the 2019 coronavirus, is apparently free. Distributors see a 38% increase in sales. Jokes and fake news even say that the harmful substance is protective against infection and improves immunity. Problem in sight!...
May 04, 2020We live the Covid-19 Pandemic, we live in isolation, fear, insecurity, uncertainty, distance, concerns, we live anxiety. In this context, it is normal and expected that our emotions will intensify and generate intense discomfort. Previous studies have highlighted the increase in anxiety in periods of crisis throughout history. At these times, anxiety can lose its adaptive function and thus lose its protective and motivating role, becoming pathological and generating intense suffering in the individual with impairment in different areas of life. ...
April 30, 2020In today's text I talk a little about the moment we are experiencing, some changes that we may be feeling in our disposition, motivation, concentration, etc. And I share a strategy that I have been using at the moment to be able to welcome myself and meet these new needs that I have identified. I hope it is useful! Check out the full text written by psychologist Mariana Dillenburg (CRP: 07/27708) in the CEFI Contextus Blog: http://terapiascontextuais.com.br/vamos-tentar-manter-a-ro.../ ...
April 29, 2020Instead of fighting against ourselves and being charged for not being able to follow a simple advice like "wake up early", we can follow a slightly less usual path: accept that, even giving the best of ourselves at every moment, we may not be able to handle everything.
